Marine Service Technologies
Perform maintenance & repair on Honda, Mercury Marine & other major manufacturer inboard and outboard engines.Exciting Career Fields: Marine Rigger, Service Writer/Parts Technician, Outboard Engine Technician, Stern Drive Technician, Inboard Gas TechnicianWorking directly on the marine engines, students learn to use the tools, equipment, materials, and processes found in the marine industry and are prepared for employment as machinery, marine engine, or outboard motor technicians Classroom and practical experience with maintenance, repair, trouble-shooting, removal and reinstallation of marine engines and related equipment on pleasure boats and commercial crafts. The course content will include the following: service, repair and overhaul of two-stroke and four-stroke cycle engines and outboard motors, and service and repair of boating accessories. This will include electrical systems, fuel systems, power transfer systems, ignition systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, drive systems, and boat and trailer rigging. Students can earn two Yamaha 5 Star certificates and four Bombardier (Johnson-Evinrude) Recreational Products E-ssentials certificates while attending this course.
